Owner Builder

ACT Owner Builder Course

In order to become an owner-builder in ACT, you must complete an owner-builder course to demonstrate sufficient knowledge of legislative and technical requirements in relation to the building work.

The ABE ACT Owner-Builder Course will provide you with the educational requirements prescribed by the ACT Planning & Land Authority to apply for your owner-builder licence in ACT. Upon completion of the course, you will have attained the required skills and knowledge to confidently and successfully undertake day-to-day owner-builder activities.

NSW Owner Builder Course

In order to become an owner-builder in NSW, you must complete the NSW Fair Trading mandated educational requirements which came into effect on July 15, 2015 and also hold a recent White card.

The ABE NSW Owner Builder Course will provide you with sufficient knowledge of legislative and technical requirements in relation to the building work. Upon completion of the course, you will have attained the required skills and knowledge to confidently and successfully undertake day-to-day owner-builder activities.

White Card Online

In order to obtain a General Construction Induction Card (white card), you must complete the following mandated units of competency: CPCCOHS1001A Work Safely in the Construction Industry. This Course is also compulsory for all those wishing to obtain their Owner-builder permit.

Upon completion of this unit of competency, you will be able to demonstrate personal awareness of Work Health and Safety legislative requirements, and the basic principles of risk management and prevention of injury and illness on a construction site.
