ABE Education is an approved CPD provider with the Tasmanian Department of Justice. Under the TAS Building Act 200 all building practitioners, demolishers, electricians and plumbers must complete CPD and retain a record of proof for any CPD activities they have completed, as they may be audited for compliance.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) - renewal applicants only

When you renew your licence, you will need to confirm on your application that you have undertaken Continuing Professional Development (CPD). For builder licensing the value is 12 points per year. For those renewing triennially (each 3 years), points can be averaged over that three year licensing period.

“A builder must gain 36 CPD points during a three-year period. For example: when a builder’s one-year license expires, the builder must demonstrate 12 points gained; when his/her three-year license is due to be renewed, the builder must demonstrate that they gained 36 CPD points over the course of that three years, regardless of what year of that three-year period they were gained.”

This means that builders (all categories), electricians and plumbers with a 3 year licence can obtain all their CPD points in one go and your course completion certificates are automatically emailed to you to serve as your record of attendance. Its that simple!
